Gareth Heath has agreed a deal with AFC Sudbury manager Nicky Smith, and will be back at King's Marsh next season.
Midfielder Heath, last season's manager's player of the year, scored 17 goals in 47 appearances. The previous season he netted seven times in 24 games.

Heath has turned down Canvey island, who were promoted through the play-offs last season to the Ryman premier, agreeing late on Wednesday to accept the improved offer from AFC he had originally rejected.

Smith said: "That's good news. He said he wanted to stay here. He will do well again and can get important goals for us."

Smith is in contact with James Rowe, currently on holiday, who is also considering an improved offer, and the two will have further talks when Rowe reurns.
