SUDBURY-based Fluid Motorsport followed up their successful outing at Snetterton with another great day at Thruxton, the UK's fastest race circuit, at the weekend.
Jay Bridger picked up second place in each of the two races, as well as points for the fastest lap in the first, and is now lying second in the Formula 3 championship, just nine points behind Andy Meyrick.
After the first dry qualifying sessions o
f the season Meyrick was on pole, with Bridger second and Fluid team-mate Stefan Wilson fourth.
Bridger chased Meyrick from the start, and on lap 22 of the 24-lap race, tried to get past the championship leader.
But the Chester driver held off this challenge, and another on the final chicane on the last lap when Bridger couldn't find enough space.
Wilson chased the leading trio for much of the race before clipping a kerb and spinning off. Although he quickly rejoined the race, he lost three positions and had to settle for seventh place, but still in the points.
For the second race Bridger qualified on pole and Wilson third. Bridger was challenged by Colombian driver Steven Guerrero, who qualified in second place, from the start.
Guerrero took the lead, with Bridger going back in front by the halfway mark. After an accident and several laps led by the safety car, Bridger got away quickly, but then missed a gear.
Guerrero took the lead and held it, Bridger settling for second place, with Meyrick third.
Wilson, battling with Salman Al Khalifa from the start, attempted to overtake his rival on lap eight, but the two collided and spun out of the race.
The next two rounds of the championship are at Brands Hatch, July 11-13.
