AFC Sudbury have submitted a planning application and designs to Babergh District Council to develop Kings Marsh Stadium.
If granted, the planning permission will consist of a new clubhouse and dressing room complex as well as an AFC Grassroots and Community Pavilion.

The two buildings at Kings Marsh will provide the football team "much required and overdue" permane
nt facilities and also a foundation for AFC's Community Development Project, said a spokesman

A statement from the club said: "The community development project will form the initial foundation to provide much needed facilities for adult learning and special needs groups in our community, greatly extending the usage to Kings Marsh Stadium. AFC will be encouraging many of our community partners to help use football, sport and educational facilities that will be made available to them.

"Both the Grassroots Pavilion and the New Clubhouse have been designed in consultation with our partners to provide multi purpose use at every opportunity."

Partners include Sudbury Resource Centre, The Ryes School, The Bridge Project, town council, Suffolk County Council, Babergh, Suffolk County FA and The Football Association.

This will also allow expansion of AFC's grassroots from 80 children and ladies over the next five years.

"AFC have never had the facilities to develop youth sides and this will give us a great opportunity to help accommodate the demands for youth and ladies football in the area," the statement adds.
