BELLE Vue House and park are a part of the Sudbury community, ours and our children's history and future.
We are fast losing so much of what is historically precious to Sudbury to make way for supermarkets and the like.
Why replace beautiful Victorian buildings, reducing places of historical interest for us, visitors and tourists, which is what Sudbur
y Town Council is apparently investing heavily in.
Belle Vue is our only town park, where children can play safely, from being babies with their mothers through to teenagers.
If a health centre or flats are built, it will increase visitors with cars from all over and more parking spaces will have to be found. Will the park still exist and if so will it still be as safe with all the extra people and traffic?
What better place for a health centre than the redundant plot beside the bus depot? It is surrounded by car parks, accessed by buses with a train service close by, and it is adjacent to the town centre and amenities. If the intention is to build more shops here then who will rent them? There is a down turn in retail and empty premises attract negativity and we don’t need any more shops anyway.
Please, let’s make a fuss or we will lose it.
