The Sudbury Buzz is now being discussed right across the globe.
Since the Free Press broke the story last week on the buzzing sound keeping residents awake at night – the mystery has gripped the national news and caused an influx of theories from around the world.

Bradley Smith, 20, Sudbury's Community Warden,
said: "It's been relentless – just this morning I had Kate Milner from the BBC knocking on my door at 5.30am wanting to do the story."

Mr Smith, of Essex Way – who is having trouble sleeping through the buzz – said the BBC had asked if they could spend the night in his spare room.

"I said no and told them to get a hotel room. I think they ended up staying at the Mill Hotel."

His early mornings have been combined with evening radio interviews on Eddie Mair's Radio 4 PM show and the sleep-deprived council worker said the media storm had been "knackering".

"The problem is we still haven't found out what is causing the noise and it needs to be sorted," he added.
Many residents affected by the relentless buzz have been trying to find the source.

Simon Prentice, of Mountbatten Close, believes the sound is coming from a security alarm system.

He said: "It seems to coincide with a new burglar alarm at Caribbean Blinds on the Woodhall Industrial Estate. It can only be triggered at night so this would coincide with when most of us are hearing it.
"I have phoned the company director at 3am when I heard it going off and the sound does sound similar to the one everyone is complaining about."

But Carribean Blinds Director, Stuart Dantzic, said it was impossible.
Mr Dantzic, who was forced to install new security after a string of break-ins, said: "The alarm is not continuous and is only triggered if a physical body actually steps in front of the sensor and even then it will only give a blast for about 15 minutes."
